Running a social proof or “proof points” survey with satisfied customers is an effective, low-cost way to generate statistically significant, third-party data (for third-party credibility) that you can use on your website or review sites to encourage prospective users to sign up.

Social proof surveys can generate both aggregated statistics (no need to secure permission from every customer to use their name and company name) and direct, attributable quotes (with explicit permission from customers surveyed). This is a highly tactical template—I used this process with the product marketing teams at Gusto and Brex (both large B2B tech brands), to generate proof points for our website and marketing collateral like billboards. This template includes the project overview, a list of tasks, example survey goals and survey, sample survey questions, and email templates for your survey outreach and follow-up messaging.
