This page is intended as a source of information regarding Career Path in Tech Department of Agate.
What are the Career Opportunities available in Agate?
Career Path are basically routes a crew can follow throughout their career. In Tech Department, there are 5 career paths available to choose, divided into 2 major Role Categories. The Role Categories are defined by what grade you're currently on:
Entry Role (Grade 2-4)
When a crew join Agate as a grade 2 to 4, they will be assigned to Entry Role. In Tech Department, they can either choose to be a Programmer or an Engineer
Senior Role (Grade 5-9)
After certain period of time working in Agate, a crew have to choose a path in their Senior Role. There are 3 available Senior Role paths to choose from: Specialist, Leadership, and Management.

You can check your current path by finding your role here and check the Path: Crew Role. Alternatively, you can ask your Lead or **mentor** for more guidance
❓ Am I eligible for [Insert Path]?
There are certain roles and paths that's exclusive to other paths such as Grade 8+ roles and Specialist Path. Other than that, as long as you met the competence requirements, you're good to go!
❓ What can I do to advance to the next stage of my Career Path?

❓ I already took a path, but I want to switch to a different path. Is it possible?
Crew can choose a different path than their current role (e.g. specialist to generalist or vice versa), but the approval will depend on the path's current state (is there any replacement yet, etc.) and crew will need to comply with the new path requirements (in terms of competence).

Entry Role consists of 2 paths: Programmer and Engineer. The crew with this path are expected to strengthen their fundamental knowledge by learning the basic knowledge from all field of Technology. They are also expected to be able to work independently and manage themselves.
Senior Role are the role category assigned to crews that have reached Grade 5 and up. At this level, the crew must choose a path and skill they want to focus on developing. There are 3 paths available to choose from:

Specialist Path can only be obtained from Programmer Path, and not from Engineer Path. This is due to Engineer role by its nature is already a specialized role.
Specialists focus solely on improving their Technical Skill and Specialty, thus they are expected to have the highest level of Technical Skill compared to other senior role such as Leadership Path or Management Path.
<aside> ℹ️ In Grade 6 and 7, the crew are expected to be able to mentor their knowledge to other crew, thus they need to improve their Leadership Skill to Team Level as shown below.

Leadership Path can be obtained from both Programmer Path and Engineer Path. Crews that chose this path have main responsibility of leading Development Team to create a High Quality Product. To achieve that, they need to have:
Management Path can be obtained from both Programmer Path and Engineer Path. They have the highest available Grade compared to other paths.
The crews that chose this path have main responsibility of creating and improving Technology System, and to improve overall Technology Utilization in the company. To achieve that, they need to have:
