Book: Lone Wolf

Outline (v2)

Warm-up:

Alright, today is another day! Currently on Day 17. Only 23 more days to go. As per usual, using this section to do some writing warm-ups. Letting everything in my head out on to (digital) paper. Getting into the groove. If you've been following along the last 17 days, thanks for tuning in. It's been fun doing this through Notion, as it's setup in a way that isn't linear (unlike Word or Google Docs page). I can interconnect chapters and sections with one another, reference them using relational databases. Yesterday was fun writing about The 3 Types of Head-Centered Goal-Setting . Today we're going to dive into the OCKIV Method™, which actually informs a lot of what we're doing for hona.io, which was birthed out of The Pack. Ok, let's get started.

But combined with Objectives, Key Results, and Initiatives, we have a more "complete" method for leveraging both your head and heart when it comes to goals. A battle-tested methodology that we've refined over the last 5 years with the members of our Pack (in fact, the OCKIV acronym came together because of them - they kept referencing it in this manner).

So to reiterate, the OCKIV Method is as follows:

I'm now going to hand it over to Erin, who was pivotal in the creation of OCKIV, to add a few things about what inspired the structure for this methodology:

To get an idea of how this method would be applied in the real world, take a look at the following example:
