Since 2005 we've been focusing on 6 knowledge areas to power our ability to initiate, facilitate, unite & power unlikely connections to inspire actions that create a fairer world, and in sync with our knowledge we've been refining 18 values on what it takes to be an unlikely mentor - to build bridges, more recently we've discovered the unlikeliest of teachers of our knowledge, our Professors who have become the ultimate guides for AIME's network..

BLUE

Professor of Flipping the Script

(he/him/his)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Description

Blue loves to surf. He radiates the energy of the ocean, the positivity from waves: peaceful. He comes from a background in Film and TV writing. After many successful years writing scripts in the business and telling stories that’d been told a million times, why don’t we take our screenwriting skills and use them for human beings in real life? He’s so likable: a California-dreaming, everything-is-radical sort of vibe. But with that relaxed exterior, he also has a (near) obsessive deep knowledge and desire to learn new things. He doesn’t say words for the sake of it; he’s thoughtful. He holds inside him a contrarian energy: he’s a burned out film/TV writer. He wants to take his storytelling gift and bring it to humanity. Blue’s fundamental lesson in flipping the script: I don’t have to play my part in someone else’s story. Self-authorship is integral to that – a true entrepreneurial mindset; finding your way out of a dominant story. He’s a life coach; a bridge for the whole film and TV industry. What happens when story and art move beyond film and TV, and are used to create world class strategies for how governments function? Blue wants to help write an unbelievable curriculum for kids. He looks back at the entertainment industry and knows why he left…but he still wants to push the industry to tell more moral, complex stories.

Enneagram: #9 The Meditator

Balanced at the top of the Enneagram, Nines are the most basic and most numerous personality type. They are the "salt of the earth" and the "glue" that holds the community together. People of this type come in all shapes and sizes, but they share a common problem with inertia (or momentum). Whether they are lazy in the traditional sense or hard workers continually on the move, "Nines" have a problem finding and staying with their own priorities. It's hard to change directions or shift attention to what is most important. They "forget" themselves. Nines excel at seeing all points of view. This can make it difficult for them to make personal decisions, but at the same time, they can be excellent mediators and peacemakers for others. Nines seek harmony in their environment and will go to great lengths to avoid conflict (although at times championing others). They are body-based types, with a strong gut sense of knowing, although they can also be out of touch with their bodies.
