In April 2019, after two and a half years of discussions, the EU adopted the Directive on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market. The EU Member States have until 7 June 2021 to implement the rules established by the new Copyright Directive into their national laws. These country pages aim to track the implementation of the Directive in the various EU member states.

<aside> 💡 Note that some countries have split the implementation of the Directive across multiple legislative acts. This means that a country might have, simultaneously, laws that have already been approved and/or laws that are being discussed in the Parliament and/or laws that are still in the stage of public or targeted consultation.
