August 2020: the Ministry of Culture sent a questionnaire to selected stakeholders asking for feedback on the implementation of the DSM Directive, with a view to conduct a public consultation on the implementation in October 2020.
September and October 2020: the Ministry of Culture extended the opportunity to send responses to the questionnaire to other stakeholders.
2020-10-15: Deadline set by the Ministry of Culture to Communia to submit a response to the questionnaire.
2021-09-23: Council of Ministers approves law proposal to implement the DSM Directive.
2021-09-28: Implementation proposal is sent to the Parliament by the Government, with a recommendation to hold a public consultation during the Parliamentary procedure.
2021-09-29: Implementation proposal is sent to the Commission of Culture and Communication.
2021-10-19: Commission of Culture and Communication issues an Opinion on the implementation proposal. The Opinion deals mostly with formality requirements and recommends a consultation to certain entities (mostly rightholders, but also the Portuguese Consumers Organization DECO and the digital rights organization D3).
2021-10-22: Public consultation started. Submissions should be sent to 12CCC@ar.parlamento.pt
2021-11-21: Deadline for submissions.
