This page is meant to expand on the disclaimer pinned to the top of certain pages in the wiki. It reads:

<aside> <img src="/icons/helm_gray.svg" alt="/icons/helm_gray.svg" width="40px" />

These descriptions attempt to explain concepts that cannot be captured by language alone. While comprehending them intellectually through language may be necessary, it is not sufficient. To appreciate them fully, we must also experience them directly, firsthand, through practice. See also theory vs. practice.

The general idea behind the disclaimer is that we can only get so far in our understanding and appreciation of non-dual mindfulness through theory. Theoretical insights help outline, or give structure to, concepts, principles, exercises, techniques, and so on —but they are only one half of the equation.

The other half, practice, is where we put our theories to the test. It’s when we attempt to "do nothing" and rest as awareness.
