Some brief context

For those of you who don't know - I am a web-developer by trade. Specifically, a front-end developer, whose role is responsible for creating the UI (user interface) of a website; anything you can see, click, or interact with.

So, it might beg the question for some: why didn't I make my own website?

The basic answer

Making a website is a lot of effort - and for me personally this space here is less about the process or end-product of "making a website" and more focused upon "putting myself out there" and writing.

A slightly more detailed answer

Making a website is a lot of effort - especially custom ones. Even customising Squarespace or implementing a Wordpress theme is more fiddly than I care for, in terms of what I'm doing here.

This website and my blog are first and foremost a creative outlet from me. Don't get me wrong, front-end development and programming are also valid creative outlets (of which I also partake in various respects), however the intent of the content here (on this website specifically) is different (Why I started a website), and less so anything like a portfolio piece.

I chose to use Notion (What's Notion?) as a platform for my website because the process to create and manage content inside the Notion app is stupid easy; I even write and manage my newsletter content here ( - syndicated with MailChimp) - purely because it's so easy. All in all it makes for a very transparent and one-stop-shop process for myself.
