Welcome to the Warehouse Management System (WMS)! If you're new, don't worry — this system is designed to streamline warehouse operations, and this overview will guide you step by step.
Think of your warehouse like a living system. The WMS helps you manage the flow of goods — from the moment they arrive at your warehouse, until the moment they are shipped out to customers. Here's how everything fits together:
🔧 Set Up the Basics (Master Data)
Before you do anything, the foundation must be laid. This includes setting up warehouse zones, storage locations, items, packaging units, customers, and suppliers — all the essential building blocks the system needs to function.
👥 Manage Roles and Users
Control who does what. Assign system roles like Super Admin, Admin, User, or Worker to ensure that the right people have access to the right functions.
📥 Inbound Process
When goods arrive, WMS helps you receive and store them efficiently — whether they’re standard deliveries, cross-docked items, or returns.
📤 Outbound Process
When it's time to ship, the system organizes the orders, picking tasks, packing, and dispatching to make sure the right goods go to the right customer.
♻️ Internal Operations
Throughout the day, the warehouse may need to move stock, replenish picking zones, or count inventory. WMS helps manage these internal activities to maintain smooth operations.

During inbound operations, when Purchase Orders (POs) are received into the warehouse, items are temporarily placed in a designated staging area called IB_STAGE01. This staging location acts as a buffer zone before the items are put away into their final storage locations.
During outbound operations, when items are picked from inventory to fulfill Sales Orders (SOs), they are moved to another temporary staging location called OB_STAGE01. This allows items to be organized and prepared for shipment.
When the system allocates inventory for outbound sales orders, it will exclude items stored in IB_STAGE01 and OB_STAGE01, as these are not considered available for allocation. Instead, the system picks stock from normal storage locations where inventory is fully received and available for use.
