Maintaining a website is not an easy task. It is important to gather, store and show the information in a systematic way. To better achieve this, Notion’s database feature is a great tool. From the database we can easily generate the website content and it is much easier to maintain, update database than directly editing the website code repo. Brown Visual Computing has done a good job to create databases for their people, alumni, publications and more. With the notion databases, we can do the same, making the information management much easier and efficient!
Currently, the automation for publication update is done. You can add/modify the publication database directly and the website will automatically update. (remember to tell the site maintainer about your change, current maintainer: Xingguang (Kevin) Yan ) TODO: add automation for news and people
Thoughts on enhancing the website
To add a publication item, make sure to add ‘Name’, ‘Authors’, ‘project_link’, ‘paper_link’, ‘Thumbnail’, ‘Abstract’. If you see ✔️ in the leftmost row, then you are good to go.

[ ] Solve the slow redirecting problem of gruvi.cs.sfu.ca
According to Wallace, it is not possible to assign two custom domains to a single github repo. So no easy way to remove the redirecting problem. Currently, I changed the wait time from 3 seconds to 0 seconds to speed up the process.
Here are some TODOs for the website maintainence: Add the automation for people and news as well.
