2. Working with the team and ZenHub

We use The Standard GitHub Flow - if you're new to GitHub or need a refresher follow This Guide.

  1. Install ZenHub, a GitHub Kanban board Chrome/Firefox browser extension.
  2. (There is an alternative view from any device or browser at app.zenhub.com)
  3. Login to the extension or web app with your GitHub account.
  4. Click the ZenHub tab on our repo on github.
  5. Make sure you're filtering Repos by /askdarcel-api, /askdarcel-web, AND /sheltertech.org (at least 3/5).
  6. In ZenHub, look at the To Do column and grab an issue (First-Time Friendly tags are for you) by clicking it and assigning it to yourself.
  7. If something seems vague, contradictory, duplicate, or you need help with an issue please tag it in ZenHub.
  8. If progress is made, drag and drop a ZenHub issue to move it to a new column, or reassign it in the issue popup page. Make sure that's according to our Team Guidelines below.
  9. If you notice a bug please make a new GitHub issue ticket and add as many details as you can and an example in the description.
  10. You may want to enable notifications for issues or repos you're following, follow this guide.
  11. Some of our issues have Dependencies, read this guide on working with them.
