We also had a critique this week for our first project, I have shown my feedback and adjustments here: Project 1 - Type Specimen Poster
There is an increased number of devices available where content can be accessed and viewed from. Designs will need to be adaptable and responsive to multiple different devices and formats, also makes content more accessible as there are not specific devices needed to correctly view something. Many people use multiple devices in combination to access some content, there are also factors, such as, 2 step authentication, which require users to use one device to confirm something before they can effectively access content on their other device.
Wearable and more portable and compact devices. smart watches, glasses, AR and VR
Smart speakers, or homes i.e, doorbell, thermostat
Devices that are not used by humans at all, self driving cars
The web is constantly developing and adapting
Probably more personalised applications, personalised UI, users can customise UI’s to better fit their needs
genUI - UI’s could be generated dynamically made in real time to suit each user.
A shift to outcome orientated design - shift from designing interfaces to designing outcomes.
Humans would need to provide guidance and constraints, as currently only knows what its been told, it cant generate new ideas
research will become even more vital.
Human machine interactions, gesture recogination, brain-computer interfaces, Haptics hapt-aids, monitors user activity.
Proportions - alignment and layout, Fibonacci sequence, using maths to inform design choices
Hierarchy - making sure the most important information is the most eyecatching, making designs that guide the user through content in a specific order
Typography - headings subtitles, body text,
Composition - grid systems, alignment
Systems - how elements relate to each other, how they work in different contexts
