For this project I have to create a type specimen poster, a visual way to display a font showing its characteristics and style. For this I have chosen the Garamond font.
To begin my research for this project I initially looked up examples of these posters, to see the basis of what I have to create.
These were 3 examples that I found interesting, as I thought the limited colour palettes were eye catching but not overly distracting, I also like the simplicity of the designs as it helps to draw attention to the typography, these were ideas that I want to include in my own designs. I saw common themes throughout all the type specimen posters that I found while I was researching them, from these examples I knew what I should aim to include in my own designs, these were:
By including all these features in the posters it allows for people to very clearly see information and the style of a font, and I should try and include all the feature in my own posters.
While I was researching the Garamond font I found these 2 websites that were helpful for finding information about the font specifically.
