This week focused more on creating icons and the purpose of icons.
Icons can communicate meanings and narratives without using words. Messages can be conveyed through images instead of through words, this can allow for a design to be more universal as there will be no language barrier and everyone is able understand icons/symbols.
Icons can also allow the users to very quickly understand somethings function.
While designing icons, I should remember to keep the style and design of the icons used throughout a UI consistent, all the icons should work well together and match, This is something I will try to focus on during my master apprentice tasks.
I recreated some of the icons from the music apps that I was researching for project 1, this included icons for Spotify, Apple music and YouTube music.
I decided to recreate some of the play icons, the pause icons and the library icons, as understanding how to make these will be essential for create my own music app.
