What makes an Undefinable Club?
To best align with our values, these aspects must be considered:
- Explore Interests over Labels: Clubs must be centred around experiences, interests, or themes rather than strict identity labels. This supports our purpose of ‘living beyond conventional labels’. This means we do not intend to establish Clubs specifically relating to the labels of Gender, Race, Religion, Nationality and Sexuality. Like everything we’ve noted, if you disagree and we have blind spots, please let us know.
- Are Open to all Members: Clubs must be open to all members who wish to join. They should welcome people with diverse perspectives, focusing on shared interests or themes that people might resonate with, even if they don’t fully identify with them.
- Are Confidential and Respectful: Clubs must maintain a culture of trust, confidentiality, and respect. What is shared within each group stays within the group to create a safe space for exploration. Photography is allowed with permission of members, but no recording of intimate spaces is permitted. This ensures safe spaces are created for members.
- One Host & Either a Co-Host or Backup: Clubs must have a Host, whose role it is to ensure that the purpose of the Club is fulfilled. The Host should have either a Co-Host or a Backup who can step in when the Host cannot attend, ensuring the consistency of events and conversations required to fulfil their purpose.
- Regular Intimate Spaces: Clubs must deliver an intimate space experience for their members at least once every 6 weeks. The format of the experience is up to the Club Owner to decide and can be async or sync, in-person or virtual.
- Experience Design:
- Empower Through Exploration: Clubs must aim to empower members to express their creativity, authenticity, and capability. Hosts are encouraged to design activities or discussions that inspire respectful curiosity.
- Great Value for Members: Clubs must consider the value they are providing for their members. Free experiences should be prioritised over paid experiences where possible. We also recommend against tiered offerings e.g. don’t go to a concert where only some of you are in a VIP section.

What should I know when creating a club?
Align Intentions and Purpose: Clubs must have a clear, purpose-driven description that aligns with the community’s mission and values. They must outline the regularity of their gatherings, what they include and the expectations of new joiners. This is to ensure Undefinables understand the Club’s focus and whether they would like to join.
Positioned as a Club: Clubs must position their event and communications as an ‘undefinable community club’. This ensures members are clear on their expectations from the Flagship Events, Clubs and Meet-ups within the community.
No Club Partnerships: Clubs must not partner with other organisations on their own accord. Partnerships should be agreed at a committee-level and in alignment with the purpose and values of the community.
