TRUETALE LTD Privacy Policy - Application
Last updated: 13 April 2026
Version: 0.2.0
This Privacy Policy explains how TRUETALE LTD (“TrueTale”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the TrueTale application and related services (the “Service”). The Service is a cloud-based writing application that uses artificial intelligence to analyse manuscripts, check narrative consistency, and produce graph visualisations of story structure. This Policy does not cover the TrueTale marketing website or its related services, which are governed by a separate Privacy Policy.
This Policy is organised in two parts. Part A contains core terms that apply to all users. Part B contains jurisdiction-specific addenda that apply in addition to the core terms depending on where you are located.
If you have questions about this Policy, you can contact us at privacy@truetale.app or by writing to the address in Section 1 below.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account data: your name, email address, and password (collected and processed directly by Clerk account management software or Google depending on method of sign-up, following industry standards).
- Manuscript content: the text of manuscripts you create, edit, or upload within the Service.
- Usage and analytics data: information about how you interact with the Service, such as features used, session duration, and actions taken.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
- Payment-related data: billing name, billing address, transaction identifiers, and subscription status. Your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe - we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Service output data: data produced by TrueTale’s analysis of your manuscripts in order to deliver the features you use - including consistency checks, graph-visualisation nodes and connections, and related metadata. This data is derived from your manuscripts solely to power the Service and is displayed to you within the application. It is not stored or used separately from your use of the Service, and it is deleted when you delete the associated manuscript or your account.
- Issue-report data: where you choose to submit an issue report (for example, to flag a false positive from the consistency checker), we collect the specific story bible entry or consistency-checker flag associated with the reported issue, together with any description you provide. We do not collect the underlying manuscript text through this feature.
- Communications data: the content of messages you send to our customer-support team.
- Cookie and tracking data: as described in our separate Cookie Policy.
