Explored and defined a multi-currency wallet concept aimed at helping users in Latin America manage and protect their finances in unstable economic environments.

Translated complex financial constraints into a clear product direction, defining core capabilities, user flows, and an MVP focused on accessibility, trust, and financial control.

Context

Wedi is a digital wallet concept designed for freelancers, digital nomads, and small business owners in Latin America.

In many cases, managing money is not just about convenience. High inflation, limited financial access, and expensive, slow banking systems make it difficult for people to maintain their purchasing power and move money efficiently.

Problem

Users are not just trying to move money. They are trying to protect it.

In this context, managing finances becomes complex and risky. Existing solutions tend to be expensive, fragmented, or hard to trust, especially when dealing with multiple currencies.

Approach

I approached the problem by combining user research, market analysis, and product definition.

This involved understanding how people currently manage money across currencies, identifying gaps in existing tools, and mapping key flows around storing, sending, and converting money.

The focus was on defining what the product should be, not just how it should look.

Key Decisions

Solution

The product was defined as a digital wallet that allows users to hold and manage multiple currencies, send and receive money locally and internationally, and have more visibility and control over their finances.

The experience was designed to be simple and transparent, reducing friction in everyday financial tasks.
