Introduction

NVSaveLoad is a plugin for saving and loading the state of the game.

It is designed to “just work”, being very easy to integrate with almost no setup. Unlike other save/load systems, you don't need to explicitly tag the specific actors or properties to save - it instead automatically saves everything that has changed in the level.

Its basic functionality can be used by simply installing the plugin and assigning input bindings for saving and loading functions.

Limitations

While the system will generally save almost everything automatically, there are some things which it will not be saved:

Usage

Basic setup

For the most basic setup, all you need to do is install the plugin, and assign input bindings to the Save Game and Load Game nodes:

Installing the plugin

  1. Open your project
  2. Go to Edit→Plugins
  3. Find the NVSaveLoad plugin and tick the box next to it
  4. Restart the editor
