- Managed by the Facilitator
- Long form (full day / multi-day) meetings is common for complex topics
- Conducted regularly (e.g. every spring and fall) and also as needed
- Topic is determined by Facilitator, based on survey results and suggestions/requests from the Executive
- Participants are selected using stratified random selection (sortition) in the aim of representative participation (e.g. balance of gender, age, stakeholder types)
- Informed by the Executive, Reporter and presentations and panels of experts, advocates and stakeholders
- Carry out over multiple sessions (e.g. more than 3 full days of meetings) as needed to reach confident consensus
- Use workshop best practices, like small group discussion, facilitated dialogue, and creative and insightful exercises
- Open brainstorm and idea rating gives unfettered prioritized results from every session
- Evaluated against standard measures of meeting quality: Representative, Informed, Empathetic, Trusted and Complete (see Universal Stakeholder Workshop Process)
- Evaluation by participants, Executive, Reporter, and trusted 3rd parties (e.g. academics, hired consultants)
