Hey! I’m Dexter — founder of I.R.I.E and a proud Guyanese-Jamaican student, athlete, and future orthopedic surgeon. I created I.R.I.E because I’ve lived the gap. As a tall, active teen who’s dealt with real injuries and real recovery, I saw firsthand how access to care isn’t equal — especially for athletes from Caribbean and underserved backgrounds.
What started as a personal struggle turned into a purpose.
I.R.I.E was born from a mix of science, culture, and heart — blending my passion for sports medicine with a mission to educate and empower those often left out of the conversation.
Whether I’m breaking down body mechanics, spotlighting Caribbean athletes, or sharing wellness tips with a twist of reggae vibes — I’m here to make sports medicine feel real, reachable, and rooted in community.
This platform is for you, and we’re just getting started.
Let’s keep building, healing, and representing — together.
With respect, culture, and vibes,
Dexter Clarke
