Since 2005 we've been focusing on 6 knowledge areas to power our ability to initiate, facilitate, unite & power unlikely connections to inspire actions that create a fairer world, and in sync with our knowledge we've been refining 18 values on what it takes to be an unlikely mentor - to build bridges, more recently we've discovered the unlikeliest of teachers of our knowledge, our Professors who have become the ultimate guides for AIME's network.

Our mentoring uses structured mentoring, we have a start point and an endpoint to the mentoring experience. This ensures that we build the experience for the mentor and mentee to be one of being mentors, not saviours, of building the mentee's capacity so they are stronger without us after the mentoring exchange, and of creating a space where the mentor can provide focused time and energy and there is an endpoint.

The second key element of our structured component is that we have lessons we have designed, mentoring lessons - our lessons are designed as imagination lessons, a chance to re-imagine who we are, to enter a world that tells us we can, and a world we can pick up the pen, and write the next chapter of our story.

This design around our mentoring has given us the ability with the structure to scale our reach to often have 1 lead mentor, a university student or a teacher, or a Professor, being able to mentor 100+ mentees in a session.

Our 18 mentor values develop, encourage, shape and frame a human being with some of the ingredients required to build a bridge, make space & forge a connection as an unlikely mentor.
