Overview

This plan outlines ASVA’s first year of activity. Its purpose is to show a clear, realistic path from the Founding Charter to meaningful civic influence.

ASVA’s mission is straightforward: to empower UK voters to reward candidates who take AI safety seriously, and to ensure that systems more powerful than their creators remain under democratic control.

As set out in the Founding Charter, ASVA’s Members are voters who have signed the AI Safety Pledge and have chosen to provide their contact details so that ASVA can keep them informed and invite them to future initiatives.

Strategic Objectives

ASVA’s work in its founding year will focus on five achievable and high impact aims:

• Establish ASVA as a credible, non-partisan civic organisation
• Grow a national base of pledged votes and ASVA Members
• Publish an accessible, trustworthy AI Safety Scorecard
• Engage parliamentary candidates and encourage them to adopt the ControlAI Campaign Statement
• Ensure AI safety becomes a recognised voting issue in selected constituencies

Phase One: Foundation (Months 0-3)

Organisational Foundations

• Incorporate ASVA as a company limited by guarantee using the Articles of Association
• Appoint a small founding board

Public Release

• Launch ASVA’s website and core communication channels
• Publish the ASVA Founding Charter
• Release the AI Safety Pledge
