This week as part of my drop shipping project I put together my website using Shopify and got it ready for customers. This meant importing items to the shop, streamlining the website as a whole, and writing product descriptions.
The first thing I had to do was decide on a name. I used Shopify's name generator to come up with "Demand Electronics." I went ahead and specified electronics in the name because that is what I anticipate will bring in the most income in the long term.
The domain I picked out was www.domainelectronics.shop and connected my store to it. The .shop domain is a clever alternative to .com that has become popular among e-commerce sites that reminds customers what the website is about. A close competitor was .store but I liked .shop better.
The first part of the name "Demand" is generic enough that it could be shortened to that for whatever purpose and not be obsolete. Because of this, I decided to make the word demand the focus of the logo.

I used Hatchful to create this logo. I went through a couple of variations and used different services but this one stuck.
Last week I had prepared a list of items to import from Oberlo onto my Shopify and ended up with 17 items ready to sell. You can see that process here. Putting them on my site was as easy as connecting my product list on Oberlo to my Shopify domain.
The work was not done here, the default website was a little clunky and disorganized for my taste so I switched the theme and moved some things around. This is what it looked like before. This is what it looked like after.
