If you ask a random student entrepreneur "What is the most helpful offering your UEC has?", I'm positive that the answer will be nearly unanimous - FREE MONEY! Now we know that UECs provide so much more than that, and many students that come through your virtual doors are way too early stage to even be worrying about funding, but there is no denying that grant funding can be an absolute game-changer for students looking to launch their venture.

Most UECs understand this as well, with 65% of surveyed programs responding that they do indeed offer grants for their student startups. This section utilizes data from the affirmative responses (57 UECs with reliable data) - as well as the self-reported yearly budget amounts - in order to create the below visualizations.
Before we dive in, it is important to recognize that this is a statistically significant yet incomplete picture of the entire student grant funding landscape. Particularly, there are a handful of prominent & well-funded UECs who did not submit a response to this survey. Nevertheless, I believe the information presented below is still a relevant snapshot of grant funding in the university ecosystem.
