This means if the song isn’t your own work, you’ll need permission if you want to share charts online. This means asking for:

If the music IS your own work and you’d like to allow custom charts, you can you can reach out to us directly at dev@dcellgames.com and we’ll let people know what you will and won’t allow!

To make it easier for you all, we have an OFFICIAL WHITELIST here. This WHITELIST will list all the artists who have already been reached out to, and the permissions that they have given our community!
If they’re not on the WHITELIST yet, we ask that you ensure their responses get recorded to the WHITELIST by following the instructions below!

Why do I need to get approval, and why are you being strict about this?
D-CELL GAMES wants to help foster an official mod-chart community - we’d love the ability to showcase cool charts, hold charting events, and have official spaces to discuss and share charts!
However, we also want to have a positive relationship with our fellow musicians and artists. And unfortunately, there have been many incidents of artists discovering that mod-charts are allowing their music to be used or shared in ways they don’t want.
In order to help facilitate both things, we are actively moderating our official spaces and our official channels.
We can’t see what you choose to do on your computer, we can’t control everything you choose to post online, and we can’t moderate the entire internet.
However - if we are made aware of any charts being shared online that violate our policies, we reserve the right to request that media be taken down.
Sharing any chart online puts you at risk of that. The best way to avoid that risk is to follow the instructions below!
Also: If you ask us about a potential loophole in the rules, we will likely respond by closing that loophole. Thank you for your understanding.

Some restrictions will apply, even if you’re able to secure initial artist permission. Please go to RESTRICTIONS for more details. In addition, please make sure any uploaded customs follow our guidelines in our fanworks policy, which can be seen here: https://whitelabel.unbeatablegame.com/fanworks-policy
Read up on all that before proceeding!
Similar to our friends at 7th Beat Games, we want to make sure that artists are not regularly pestered by players asking for approval. It’s for this reason that we are, in collaboration with the discord-cell games moderation team, maintaining a WHITELIST of artists who have been reached out to already!
You can view this WHITELIST here.
Check to see if they’re there. Have they been reached out to? Have they given permission? If so, you’re good! If not, continue to step ONE.
Step one in asking for permission is finding the right place to ask!
