Differences from the official games
- Pokémon can use HMs even if you don’t teach it to them. However, you still need a Pokémon in your party that can learn the HM in order for you to use it.
- Repels received a buff:
- A Repel wards off wild Pokémon for 300 steps.
- A Super Repel wards off wild Pokémon for 500 steps.
- A Max Repel wards off wild Pokémon for 750 steps.
- Pokémon Echo introduces the Omni Repel, which is a toggle-able item that indefinitely ward off wild Pokémon in eligible areas. See **League Marshals** for more information.
- The Old Rod, Good Rod, and Super Rod, have been consolidated into one Fishing Rod.
- Most Trainers in the overworld only battle you if you interact with them. There are exceptions to this rule, though.
- Some Pokémon evolve differently. See Evolution for more information.
- As a game that presents the player with three gender options, it should come as no surprise that we went the extra mile for proper representation. Pokémon now have a small chance to be infatuated with the game gender, which can be a great leg-up when dealing with enemies that know Attract.
Echo-specific mechanics
- All Gym Leaders are bundled together in the New Mercatura League Arena. Other settlements in the region do not have individual Gyms.
- Pokémon Echo uses Level Caps. These caps can primarily be lifted by defeating Gym Leaders.
- You can rename your Pokémon at any time from the Pause menu. (Pressing Z)
- Autosave is enabled by default. If you prefer to save manually, you can do so from the Options menu.
- All Pokémon in the first Box of the Storage System will gradually earn Exp. Points as you go. If you don’t want this, you can manually move them out of the Training Box.
