In hotel parlance, ‘Front of House’ refers to the areas open to guests; reception, lounges, dining room, etc.. Whereas the staff only areas like the kitchen & laundry are much more functional.

The proverb of The Four Rooms, refers to the four dimensions of our existence; mind, body, emotions, & spirit. I think of mind & body as the front of house, the two rooms which we present to the world.
