"I’ve worked harder, so much harder, than my stupid twin to inherit the House! All he does is paint portraits of that stuttering Jonquille whore while I had to enslave myself to secure a good future for my family! Don’t I deserve a fair reward?!”

Francois du Jacinthe is the protagonist of Trois Deux Un. He is the older son of Lady Jacinthe, Jacques’ older twin brother, and the supposed heir to House Jacinthe. Later in the story, he becomes Charlotte’s fiance by force.

History

Francois was born nine minutes before Jacques, making him the older brother. He was often pressured and tasked to achieve many talents and people would set high expectations of him, causing his obsession with chasing academic achievements. However, after learning that Jacques was able to catch up to him despite his own hard work, he developed hatred towards Jacques and treated him harshly. He would often vent his anger on Jacques by beating him up or spitting harsh words.

When he and Jacques are both arranged into a marriage contract with Charlotte, Francois discovers Jacques’ obsession with her and uses this as an advantage to win the competition of inheriting House Jacinthe. After learning Charlotte’s mutual feelings for Jacques, he lost control of himself to rage and forced himself onto her, all so that he could inherit the House. In the end, Francois ended up getting killed by Jacques.

Personality

Francois is a selfish and ruthless perfectionist who is willing to do what it takes to become better than his twin brother or anyone else. He dislikes being compared to his twin or being mistaken for his twin, for he wishes to be known as his own person and his hard work to be recognized. Francois is good at hiding his true self and fooling others. But like his twin brother, he lets his emotions control himself to the point of sinning.

Appearance

Physical

Francois is a handsome young man with black hair and black eyes. His bangs are parted to the right. Unlike Jacques, he doesn’t have any injuries. When he commits a bad deed, his pupils turn red. He usually wears a polite and gentlemanly facade, hiding his true cruel self.

Outfit

Francois wears aristocratic and formal clothing. During the ball, he wears a fully white tuxedo and mask.

Relationships

Jacques du Jacinthe

Francois was often compared to Jacques so he started hating Jacques for being able to catch up with the hardships that he thought he endured himself and treats him like a peasant and slave. He would often beat and mentally abuse Jacques to vent his anger at him.

Charlotte la Jonquille

Francois never truly fell in love with Charlotte and simply thought of her as an annoyingly useless damsel. He doesn't consider her feelings as he is willing to use her and even force himself on her to prevent his brother from inheriting the House.

Duchess Jacinthe

Francois loves his mother despite her ignorance and neglectful personality. He always obeys her and seeks to impress her with his achievements. He treats her kindly and respectfully even though she’d often mistake him for Jacques.
