🗓 About Design Interactive

Davis Design Interactive is UC Davis’s first human-centered design organization. Our organization was founded out of a growing need to provide human-centered design and user experience opportunities to students exploring the field.

Our goal is to provide and promote design education on campus in the form of hands-on projects, student-led workshops, industry panels, and more. We believe that inclusive, intersectional, and interactive design are the cornerstones of good design, and our organization embodies these core values.

📚 Our Education Programs

Fellowship

Our fellowship program is a community of UCD students passionate about design and human-centered problem-solving. Fellows will have access to the DI alumni network, a design challenge, and internal events.

Open roles:

Fellow: Learn design fundamentals from the ground up. A low-stakes, welcoming entry point into UX/UI design. Great for dipping your toes in and figuring out if UX/UI design is for you.

Cohort

Our cohort program is for passionate designers looking for a more structured and committed project. Mentored teams of experienced designers focused on solving exploratory, out-of-the-box problems or providing innovative solutions for their peers. Associate workshops will include presentations from industry professionals and experienced DI members.

Open roles:

Design Lead: Great if you’re looking for a leadership role in design! Lead a team of designers and own the end-to-end vision of the product. Delegate tasks, ensure team alignment, and be the point of contact between your team members and industry mentors.
Designers: Design an end-to-end portfolio-ready project under the guidance of a Design Lead and an Industry mentor. Enhance your UI/UX skills with weekly general meetings and apply this knowledge in your projects.
