Do we currently have any external parties who we share data with (for example, via our API), or who share data with us?

PlanX: We use JSON data that PlanX sends to our system. PlanX uses our API in order to POST planning applications data to BOPS. At the moment, to take advantage of the full range of functionality within BOPS, we recommend that local authorities who use the BOPS system are also signed up to PlanX. However, it is perfectly possible to create and process applications manually within BOPS, or to submit sample planning applications via the API, in order to get planning teams familiar with the BOPS workflow and features.

BOPS Applicants: If there are any validation requests created by the planner during the assessment process of the planning application, the applicant will receive an email notification with a unique link to access the BOPS Applicants site, which resolves GET data from BoPS. The applicants are then able to respond to any queries that the planner has and this information gets fed through back to BOPS via PATCH requests. This data transfer can include file uploads.

Is there a specific organisation that we might share data with in the near future?

We have deliberately built BOPS to be as service-agnostic as possible, with the aim of integrating with multiple services in the future. Planned integrations will appear on our public Roadmap, and you can also talk to our Product Owner to find out plans for future integrations.
