Customize appearance on desktop

To customize Notion's appearance on desktop:

  1. Go to Settings in your sidebar.

  2. A new window will open. Click My settings.

  3. Open the dropdown next to Appearance and select one of the following options:

    • Use system setting to follow your system appearance setting.

    • Light to display light mode.

    • Dark to display dark mode.

  4. You can also turn dark mode on or off anytime with the shortcut cmd/ctrl + shift + L.

Customize appearance on mobile

To customize Notion's appearance on mobile:

  1. Open the sidebar by tapping the ••• in the top corner.

  2. Tap Settings and scroll to the Appearance section.

  3. Open the dropdown and select one of the following options:

    • Use system setting to follow your system appearance setting.

    • Light to display light mode.

    • Dark to display dark mode.

Note: When you select dark mode, it applies to all workspaces you're signed into on your account. If you switch between them, they'll all be dark.
