Imagine our globe, our world. There, we will see humans operating in socio-cultural structures that guide people to certain cognition and behaviour, the aggregate of which gives rise to the emerging patterns and results we see in the world. Such societal structures or systems include the economic system or the underlying structures by which the decision-making is brought about and to which entities are subjected.

The design of these systems has certain guiding principles which tend to direct entities… including people, companies and countries to certain thinking and actions. The underlying structural design tends to direct, allocate and manage resources and distribute power in a particular way. The sum of these notions and interactions give rise to the bad and the good we see in the world... the problems but also opportunities to meet the world’s needs, solve problems and advance the world forward.

Many of the problems we see in the world are symptoms of one of the root causes which is how our society is constructed and organized. Economy and the incentives it gives to entities, the systems of governance or decision-making, education system, how we organize and run companies and other systems in the world which affect individuals, organizations and the way other things are done in the society.

So an ideal socio-cultural structure would bring the different elements into a harmonious mode of operation which would guide, incentivize, mobilize and coordinate resources and entities in an intelligent decision-making & economic framework with embedded socio-environmental values in accordance with the world’s priorities across problems, risks, needs, solutions and opportunities which would bring the most impactful and optimal results for all and the whole that we exist in.

The optimal system is such that has a mode of operating which minimizes the bad and maximizes the good for all and the whole that we exist in by guiding the resources and entities towards: a greater understanding, impactful work and investments, towards better choices, actions, meaningful fulfilling lives and co-existence based on our best knowledge from science, philosophy, human psychology and what makes up a good functioning society.

This is the current underlying model of the world and society that partly informs the work of ZALAB that strives towards projects contributing to solving important world-problems, projects providing root-solutions that in turn lead to many other solutions and with an aspiration for innovative breakthroughs.
