The iPhone is a delightful product to use. It's lot of fun. The colors are attractive, it's easy to navigate, it feels good in the hands. It is created by arguably the best design company in the world. No wonder we spend so much time it. Can you name another product you love using as much? I can't.

Here are three steps I took to make one of my favorite products unattractive and unsatisfying to use:

1. Boring background and wallpaper: This is easy. Place your phone flat on a black surface and take a photo. Now go and set that photo as your background and wallpaper.

2. Turn on grayscale

• On your iPhone go to Settings
• Click on Accessiblity, then Display & Text Size, and Color Filters
• Turn Color Filters on. Grayscale should be selected by default.

3. Make it easy to switch back to color

• On your iPhone go to Settings
• Click on Accessiblity and scroll all the way to the bottom.
• Click Accessibility Shortcut.
• Press and hold Color Filters, move it to the top.
• Once at the top, click Color Filters to turn it on
• Test by clicking the right-side button 3 times quickly. You should be able to easily toggle between grey and color.
