Some of you know I’ve been “geo-fenced” to California since Dec 2016 (yes, I think of that opening scene in Total Recall where I have one of those collars around my neck and my head will blow off should I cross state borders before Dec 2020 😅) I’ll have spent 4 years dreaming about what the world out outside of California is like (and taken 4 years to appreciate the beauty of California and be grateful for living here!). So I’m planning to drive cross-country from the West Coast to the East Coast for the first time. My goal is to make it for my niece’s 4th birthday in June 2021 and I haven’t quite decided:

• how long this trip will be
• my budget
• is this a pure “vacation” where I take a break from my usual “busy-ness” or am I “working” as I travel?
• where I’m stopping along the way (including where I’ll be sleeping!) (be plotting this in the table below)
• whether this is more of a solo rite of passage or focused on visiting close friends
• whether I have traveling companions (including my dad!)
• and whether I am driving back or if this is a one-way trek!
