Introducing Salon

Last fall, we started Article Club, a biweekly book-club-style discussion about web3 articles, with articles chosen by vote in a Telegram chat. The first iteration of Article Club ran for four months from November 2022 to February 2023, and during that time, we read seven different articles covering topics ranging from decentralized media to AGI to progressive decentralization.

The results of this initial experiment were interesting. Based on conversations with AC members, surveys, and our own observations, we concluded that:

  1. It’s hard to find spaces in web3 to talk in-depth about interesting articles and concepts.
  2. Discussion groups rely on diverse perspectives among members and a sense of community.

So, for the past two months, we have been brainstorming a new iteration of Article Club that packages everything we learned during our first iteration to create the best experience possible.

We are thrilled to introduce Salon, a web3 discussion group program that runs for 8 weeks, with the goal of fostering curious and collaborative conversations among a tight-knit community with a diverse set of perspectives.
