Presence is an operational tool for creators of live events. Our mission is to scale human connection. In order to achieve this we are solving for the problem of operations and revenue for creators of live events and experiences.

We believe that disconnection is the root cause of the problems in our society. We are disconnected from ourselves, each other and nature. We have learned and proven as creators ourselves that experiential art is the tool and technology that can bring us into deeper connection through shared experiences. We focus on creating the tools that empowers the creators of these experiences to be efficient in how they manage, organize and generate revenue so they can create more shared experiences that becomes more accessible to more people.

Founded by Damian Madray, an experiential designer, producer and product designer, we are working at the intersection of software and experiential design to create a platform tool that fits the workflow of experiential creators.

Traction

We're an early stage startup with an MVP. We have 20K total users. We have 427 creators (producers) adding experiences. Those creators have published 979 experiences on Presence selling 5K tickets to 2K unique users. We processed 364 payments worth over $14.1K in ticket sales. Presence hosted 7 festivals reaching over 50K people. We have letter of intent from 12 communities that are ready to pay for our product.

About the role

Damian is looking for a seasoned and innovative technology leader to join the founding team to establish the overall technical vision for Presence. You will develop the strategy, build and manage the engineering team which includes core services, security, API's, developer productivity, identity, data infrastructure and creator tools. You will be developing the overall engineering culture within Presence and define the tools, technologies and processes used to ensure engineering excellence.

An ideal candidate will have developed their own products and services. This leader should have strong familiarity with apps, saas, mobile, api, video or streaming services. They are comfortable managing small engineering teams in a fast paced and fluid startup environment. This leader has a passion for technology and delighting customers around the globe with new and innovative products and services. Perhaps most importantly, you care about solving for human connection because you understand that as a species, we need to be in deeper connection with each other.

You will:

• Provide essential leadership to build the platform of choice for experiential creators to create experiential content for their audiences.
• Build and lead the development of the overall technical strategy, setting compelling direction, fostering understanding across product lines, making smart innovation, leading teams to build roadmap and deliver results.
• Proactively collaborate with the founder to continuously creating values for creators and their audiences. Build the technical muscle across Presence to achieve its vision.
• Continuously focus on building and developing engineering leadership talents that have the business acumen and technical capability to deliver results.
• Lead through principles consistent with Presence values and leadership success profile. This includes the demonstrated ability to think strategically, drive results, build a high-performing organization, continuously drive innovation and inspire the organization to achieve and exceed its goals.
