Full-Time | Starting Summer 2026
Wilderland Academy is a nature-based Kβ8 microschool nestled on Harmony Ranch in the Ogden Valley, blending Montessori philosophy, the Alpha School 2-hour learning model, and AI-assisted personalized learning. Our students spend meaningful time outdoors, pursue self-directed passion projects, and develop the character skills that will carry them through life β not just the academic ones.
We are a small, intentional community. Our guides are not just teachers β they are mentors, coaches, and co-adventurers in children's learning lives. Our full-time students grow academically at nearly 3x the national average. We're proud of that, and we're looking for someone who will help us sustain and deepen it.
We are entering our fourth year and launching a dedicated 6thβ8th grade middle school program for the first time. This is a founding role for that expansion β a rare opportunity to shape what Wilderland's middle school years will look like for years to come.
This is a full-time lead guide position responsible for guiding students in grades 6 through 8 at our upper campus near Nordic Valley. You will be the primary adult presence for our inaugural middle school cohort (about 15 children) β working in a technology-integrated, Alpha-style learning environment that blends self-directed academic work, passion projects, outdoor education, and character development.
Most of your students will be current Wilderland students graduating into the middle school years. They already know our language, our rhythms, and our values. What they need is a guide who can meet them where they are and take the experience somewhere that feels meaningfully different from elementary school β more independence, more depth, more ownership over their own learning. You will work closely alongside our 3rdβ5th grade Lead Guide and our Curriculum Director with regular connection to our founding Lead Educator.
This is a fully onsite position at our upper campus. The school day runs Monday through Friday. You will be expected to open the facility by 8:00 AM to receive students starting at 8:15 AM, and close after the last child leaves, typically around 3:30 PM. Plan for approximately 36 hours onsite per week, with an additional ~4 hours of remote work β lesson preparation, family communication, and program development β for a total of approximately 40 hours per week.
