guide to changing icons to custom ones!

1. download the icon, make sure it is an .ico file.
2. create a shortcut on the desktop; this is the app that you’re going to change the icon of.
3. right click the shortcut, and go to properties. (Alt+Enter)
4. click on the [Change icon…] button.
5. click on [Browse…] and find the folder that you saved the icon in.
6. double-click the icon.
7. you’re done!

guide to changing system icons! (eg. Recycle Bin, This PC, etc.)

Note: This process is quite different from changing regular icons! For this example, I am using the Recycle Bin!

1. open settings > personalization > themes
2. click on the desktop icon settings link you see.
3. select the recycle bin (full) icon.
4. press “change icon”. (make sure that the icon you are using is an .ico file!)
5. choose the icon and set it.
6. repeat the process for recycle bin (empty) icon.
