As an early-stage tech startup, we need to find our champions. People that are willing to take the time to explore a new product, embrace the rough edges, break a few things and hopefully see the bigger potential and share that potential.

We are building something very different. It hasn't been done before this way before. Personal finance is usually about formulas and spreadsheets and layers of complexity. It can be static, confusing, slow and daunting...

At whatifi, we've created a highly visual, interactive and extremely collaborative online platform for mapping out your financial and life decisions. Our hope is that it provides a level of clarity and insight that has not been possible with traditional financial planning tools.

We are leveraging some of the tools and workflows that are common place in the feature film visual effects industry and applying these to personal and family finance. Long term, we hope to expand to a variety of niches and industries.

We see ourselves being a tool that a Real Estate Agent might share with their clients to better share and plan their real estate purchases. Financial Planners have expressed interest in this being a tool that they use to communicate better with their clients. A buisness owner might use whatifi to map out several different project and hiring strategies.

Upfront though, our goal is to empower parents and individuals to better understand and plan long term themselves. Our first release is generic and supports "nodes" like Income, Expense, Mortgages and Loans. Shortly will be releasing the following building block nodes:

This is still very much a work-in-progress and there will be bugs, functionality and workflow issues and the real possibility that the scenarios that you create will break as we make updates.
