The default view is now just the left console. Certain functions, such as messaging or settings, slide out to the right when clicked.

We've done away with tabs! You can see your teams and switch between them (as well as create new teams) in a left side column.
You can now hide empty rooms, offline teammates, and private conversations by clicking on the relevant heading.
Instead of status lights, teammates' profile pictures are now display next to their names and are greyed out if they're offline or otherwise unavailable.
We love the intangible buzz of a dynamic office. To better emulate that feeling, you can now see conversations happening across the team—and, if a conversation is public, you can join in.
To help keep things on topic, you can now let your teammates know what you want to chat about and for how long. You can also select preset conversation starters, or generate a fun, random subject.
You can now send stuff like messages, files, or URLs to teammates and rooms! You can also create message threads, delete messages, and edit messages.
We've created a header above the left console to make it easier to enter Do Not Disturb mode. If you click on it, a dropdown menu with things account preferences and admin settings will open.
In our never-ending quest to make calling as frictionless as sending a message, we've put the calling button right next to the message composer.
You can now view fullscreen calls in a grid view! This is great for larger calls where you want to see everyone at the same time.
We've replaced the + button that was used to add teammates or create a new channel with a vertical ellipse button that allows users to hide ****offline teammates and empty channels.
The old UX meant it was easy to accidentally create duplicate channels. We've fixed that by only allowing a channel to be created after a user names it.
We built previous and next buttons so users can jump around channels and teammate profiles more easily.
Users can now set an alert to notify them when a teammate is available. Just click on the bell icon on a teammate's profile to set the alert.
