About the project
The Leaderboard Redesign was a critical initiative aimed at revitalizing user engagement on the Nostra platform by reimagining how leaderboards were presented. The goal was to transform the existing static, low-information leaderboard system into a dynamic, engaging, and accessible experience. This effort was designed to drive competitive spirit, improve discoverability, and reward inclusivity among Nostra’s diverse user segments.

Problem Statement
The current leaderboard setup is static in nature, with limited information, has inherent challenges in terms of displaying key information & most importantly fails to get the right users to compete on the leaderboard and entice or excite users.
- Accessibility Issues:
Discovering and accessing leaderboards is a challenge for users, both inexperienced and experienced alike. The current setup requires users to navigate through various sections or banners to find the relevant leaderboard.
- User Experience:
The waypoints displayed lack gratification, and comparing ranks with top players can be demotivating for users at lower levels. The current leaderboard setup fails to create a sense of urgency or excitement (FOMO) among users to actively participate.
- Information Structure:
The information about rules, scoring points, and prizes follows a rigid structure, limiting the platform's ability to showcase physical prizes. The lack of flexibility in presenting information affects the overall user experience.
- Segmentation Issues:
Most of the money spent on leaderboards is concentrated among high spenders, creating an imbalance in user engagement. Additionally, there is a need for leaderboards that recognize and reward users showing consistent activity beyond monetary contributions.
Proposed Solutions:

Flow design

- Make leaderboards easily accessible and discoverable
Implement a more intuitive and user-friendly way for users to discover and access leaderboards. This includes redesigning banners, integrating leaderboards into gameplay, and providing a global-level view for enhanced accessibility.
- Drive FOMO and gratification through interaction and visual cues
Redesign the presentation of points and rankings to make it more gratifying for users. Introduce features that encourage users to strive for better positions and create a sense of competition and achievement.
