Summary

Let’s set the stage, you setup your charity campaign on Tiltify and get all of your alerts squared away, hit the live button and receive your first donation! “Hey chat, thanks for the donation!” When you’re streaming, it’s super easy to be able to thank donor immediately upon receiving, but what about when you’re NOT streaming? What happens if you’re out and about and spark up a conversation about your campaign? You share the details with someone but don’t know if or when they donate, leading to you having to constantly refresh your Tiltify dashboard seeing if new donations came through.

FEAR NOT. I have found a solution to help with this, giving you the opportunity to thank donors IMMEDIATELY after receiving the donation! This is a bit of a technically involved process, but don’t worry, by the end of it you’ll be able to receive alerts for any donations you receive and give you the ability to quickly follow up! While I set this up for St. Jude PLAY LIVE, this will work for any Tiltify campaign you are running!

Softwares Being Used

For each of these softwares, please create a free account and have them logged in and open in separate tabs. The only one that you could possibly pay for is Push due to the limits of how many notifications you can receive per month.

  1. Tiltify - This is base of what you need to run a charity campaign! Take note of the campaign ID which can be found on your campaign dashboard. We’ll get into that later!
  2. Make ****- I chose Make because they allow webhooks (the main driver of this tutorial) for free. Make’s free plan allows for 1,000 actions per month, which should be plenty. If you are looking for alternatives, any automation software, such as Zapier, will work as long as they allow for receiving webhooks. For simplicity, we’ll only be covering Make. (if prompted for a partner code, use code tyscreams!)
  3. Push by Techulus - This will be what delivers the push notifications! You’ll also want to install the mobile app on either your iOS or Android device. On their free plan, they only allow 30 notifications a month, but their Pro plan is affordable and allows for 5,000 notifications per month. (I don’t have a promo code but if Push is reading and wants to set one up please contact me at tyscreamsttv@gmail.com)

Tutorial

We’re going to break this down into digestible chunks which hopefully limits the confusion because this can get pretty technical, but don’t work I gotchu.

Setting up the Tiltify notification when a new donation comes in

1. Setting up the Make Scenario
