today, we got to sleep in a little longer because it’s a travel day. we checked out of our hotel at 10am and spent 1.5 hours in a park hanging out. i picked flowers whlie laura made a flower crown. when the bus came to pick us up, we got dropped off at the airport and went through security and all that. while waiting, i looked at a bookstore and got some food. we flew from florence to rome (which felt very unnecessary because we could have taken a train instead) and then from rome to palarmo. each flight was about 45 minutes long. we had to run through the airport from our first flight to our second flight because our first flight was delayed and we only had a 45 minute layover. once in sicily, we took a bus to our building, got settled, and ate pizza. the place we’re staying at is beautiful; it feels very homey.
