When creating a sketch theme be sure to use the following format for color symbols. The 01 part represents that the number of the color.

Light shades
Colors/01/100
Colors/01/200
Colors/01/300
Colors/01/400
Dark shades
Colors/01/600
Colors/01/700
Colors/01/800
Colors/01/900
When applying colors to components be sure to use nested symbols to ensure the global changes to color styling applies to all components.
Try to reuse styling such as shadows, borders and states as much as possible to ensure consistency.
Also whenever a layer has a corner radius please use the layer name CornerRadius
When designing symbols be sure to include constraints for elements inside. That means each symbol should be responsive to a change a user makes in width or height.
