This notation page serves two purposes:

  1. I wanted to help myself study for comprehensive examinations.
  2. To help others and my students understand criminological theories easier.

This notation site will run through several of the main criminological theories in an easy to read format. In doing so, not only do I hope that I become more proficient at writing these theories out, but also to help others understand them.

Layout of Pages:

As you will notice, the left hand navigation bar has some of the main theoretical areas and a bit more:(1) Environmental Criminology, (2) Victimology, (3) White Collar Crime, (4) Applied Crime Prevention, and (5) Bibliography. Each of these areas you will find theories and writings about each topic. For example, in the first section of Environmental Criminology, you will find routine activity theory, crime pattern theory, and social disorganization theory.

In each theory page, there will be a page summarizing the topic, going into detail about it for nerds, questions for active recall sessions, and then links to more sub-pages about studies, and research into each area. Use each page and each sub-page to dive into the theory, learn about different niche attached to it, and understand the original scholarly article that was written.

Well there comes a point in everyone's life in which there are things we still do not understand. For that reason, I provide my email for any questions or comments about each subtopic.
