RMS (Risk Management Solutions) is a company that makes risk analysis and insurance-related products. While at Nagarro Product Studio I was part of a 3 designer team that created a comprehensive design system based on their existing layouts, while also perfecting and adding a lot of nonexistent components. We’ve iterated on the best way to cooperate on the project, as well as allowing other RMS designers to access the components to build new products.
Working closely with RMS, we created a robust design system of visual styles, components, and code values that enable RMS to prototype and experiment with ideas in high fidelity faster and at a lower cost.
As RMS’s suite of products expanded, the user experience was getting fragmented and inconsistent design patterns and visual language were on the rise. Multiple product teams worked in silos, making it difficult to maintain a coherent brand and user interface. The challenge was to build a unified design system that could scale across teams and products, enabling faster ideation and higher-quality user experiences.
The goal of the Design System was to create beautiful and accessible products with a unified design language.
To reduce implementation effort, our components needed to be reusable and adaptable to any platform.
To be as efficient as possible, we narrowed the initial scope by creating the system first for Desktop.
