We're building Supergrain to enable the next generation of data-driven organizations. We believe companies can make much better business decisions, if only they had better tools for managing and consuming their data.

Today's data platforms fall short of their promises because they don't treat metrics as first-class citizens. Metrics are the critical link between data and decision-making, but are fragmented across many systems, inconsistently defined, and inaccessible for end-users of data. Supergrain is a new kind of data platform where data analysts can define their metrics centrally and deliver them to end users – in the interfaces of their choice.

We envision a future where all knowledge workers effortlessly use data to make decisions and achieve business outcomes. With Supergrain, we're laying the foundational infrastructure to make this possible.

Team

We're experienced operators who have played key roles building teams and technical products from 0 to 1, and through hyper-growth at category-defining companies. We've seen data at every type of scale, and we're hungry to channel our lived experiences toward building ambitious and enduring enterprise software used by tomorrow's leaders.

• George is a data analyst and leader passionate about building data-driven organizations. Most recently, he was Head of Analytics at Lyft, where he spent 6 years scaling the team from 1 to 100+, evolving the analytics infrastructure, and driving decision-making throughout the organization. His firsthand experience with the gaps between data and decision-making helped motivate the vision for Supergrain.
• Tom is an engineer passionate about building internal tools and infrastructure. Most recently, he was an engineering manager at Uber, where he joined as one of the first 50 engineers, scaled realtime marketplace systems, and built a feature flagging system that served thousands of internal customers and millions of external users. Prior to Uber, he built enterprise software at Microsoft, games at Zynga (pre-IPO), and consumer social apps at Vurb (founding team; acquired by Snap).
• Lucas is an engineer with a deep commitment to building sustainable software, processes, and teams. Most recently, he was a Staff Engineer at One Medical focusing on ML-based routing. Before that was an early engineer and technical leader at Uber where he joined as one of the first 70 engineers, built an e-commerce platform that services the company's various lines of business, and drove strategic initiatives as a founding member of the engineering council. Prior to Uber, he worked on infrastructure and recommendation systems at StumbleUpon, image processing workflows at Lucasfilm, and internal search platforms at Yahoo.

We're a seed-stage startup backed by Benchmark Capital and prominent angels in the data and developer tools space. We're able to offer competitive salaries, benefits, and meaningful equity.

We're hiring founding engineers (data, backend, full-stack, and front-end/UI) and product designers to join our team. We're looking for people who are excited about data infrastructure, developer tools, language abstractions, and delightful user experiences. Most importantly, we're looking for people who thrive in ambiguity and are excited to create and shape a product from scratch.
