The impact of the pandemic has made us hesitant to venture out to arcades like Tom's World. Now, with this compact controller, you can practice comfortably at home!

The purpose of creating this tutorial is to close the gap between controller construction and rhythm game players. I want everyone to know that this is not an impossible task. In fact, it's quite fun! Even if you don't have a background in engineering, I believe you can easily get started.

The inaugural 4K Controller Workshop was held during my tenure as the president of the Rhythm Game Club. The most challenging part of hosting this tutorial was simplifying the circuitry. I imagine a student with no understanding of circuits would find the right image rather daunting. However, in the end, everyone still enthusiastically completed their tasks. This became a point of improvement for the next workshop.

In the following two workshops, the process was smoother due to the improvements made to the circuit board and shell design. As a result, we faced fewer odd problems. For information on the improvements made to the circuit board, you can refer to the article below, which uses the same as the Sound Voltex Controller.

NaichenCon

As you can see, the design this time is very similar to my self-produced NaichenCon. The emphasis is that players who want to make their own large controllers (like Sound Voltex Controllers) can get a preliminary understanding of how to build a controller through this tutorial. After grasping the concept, the circuit materials above can be directly modified into your own controller. I believe this is a very convenient option for beginners.

These teaching experiences are precious to me, allowing me to put myself in the shoes of students who may not understand. As a teacher, I'm standing from a perspective of information asymmetry. What I take for granted may not be clearly understood by students.

This activity is the first of its kind among Rhythm Game Clubs in Taiwan. I hope to continue with this passion, passing on this content to those who love rhythm games.
