What is StartOps?

StartOps is a knowledge-sharing community for a trusted group of top D2C ecommerce startup operators. With a quick application, you can have a powerful network of peer operators at your fingertips.

Why does StartOps exist?

StartOps exists to help its members achieve 3 things:

  1. Knowledge - When you find yourself asking the question, "How do I do this?" — StartOps should be the first resource you turn to.
  2. Reputation - Operators do a lot of work that goes unrecognized outside of the four walls of their companies (and sometimes within them). StartOps is a place become known & recognized for what you're best at.
  3. People - All great opportunities come from people. StartOps should be the place where you meet your next mentor, make your next hire, or get your next job.

How does this work, exactly**?**

Today, StartOps is exactly one thing: a directory of ecommerce operators. This directory has two unique features:

  1. All members are open to sharing their time and knowledge. Per the Community Guidelines, all members of StartOps are committed to taking 1-2 meetings per month to share knowledge with the community.
  2. You can search for people with specific skills. Part of joining the community is creating an inventory of your skills, which then becomes searchable.

This means that if you have a question about a specific ops topic, it is much easier to find the right person to talk to; and you are much more likely to get a response. Here's an example of what a profile looks like.

In the coming months, we hope to roll out a number of other utilities and features, prioritized based on feedback from the community. Some potential projects include:
