Objective
You will deploy a Sourcegraph instance following our documentation. This simulates the kind of task you’ll frequently perform in the Implementation Engineering role. If you have questions about this assignment or feel you’re limited in your ability to accomplish it, please reach out!
Instructions:
Prerequisites: This task will require you to follow instructions from our public docs site to deploy an instance of Sourcegraph. It’s intentionally ambiguous to test your ability to investigate our docs, make a series of decisions around how you’ll deploy the instance, and similarly make decisions around how you'll configure the instance. This requires you to have access to either a laptop capable of running Sourcegraph locally or a cloud environment. If you don’t have either of these, let us know.
Use this docs page as a starting place. Deploy an instance of Sourcegraph. Several notes during the installation:
Answer the follow-up questions below to highlight your learnings from the assignment. Be prepared to speak both to these questions and the assignment overall during your “Discussion & Technical Assessment” interview.
Follow-Up Questions:
As a leader for a technical team, we'll get a sense of how you approach technical problems and challenges as well as your working knowledge of the developer ecosystem.
You'll meet with two individual contributors on the team to learn about how you build relationships within a team and how you lead, mentor, and develop others.
Goal: Assess presentation skills and technical understanding
